farewell summer

Well maybe that's officially a little premature because in our subtropical climate it is still hot and we are still enjoying Summer's blooms and sweet homegrown fruits..... it is still swirly dress wearing weather, which we know is Mia's gauge for *Summeriness*.....

But despite this today I gracefully welcome the first day of Autumn.

A new season joins us full of budding potential and promise.

Happy Autumn everyone.....

Here in the Netherlands we say;
FAREWELL WINTER, HELLO SPRING!!
That's funny fruit, what kind of fruit is it?

I wondered about the fruit too. It looks very tasty. We are saying farewell winter as well. The changing of seasons is so bittersweet for me.

Happy Autumn to you, Leanne! I'm sure you will savor the joy and beauty of the new season.

I'm anxious for Spring here.

it's funny that the seasons in australia start on the first day of the month - i always feel they should start the same day as they do in the northern hemisphere. for us, march is one of the hottest months of the year - certainly not autumny!
i love the changing seasons - i'm really starting to appreciate them all for what they bring. i used to hate summer but now i just relax and go with it :)
happy autumn - here's to lots of picnics

I was just thinking yesterday how much cooler it was, and how nice it would be if it stayed like that, but here in South Australia, March is generally hotter as Levin said. The fig looks scrumptious, is it one from your tree?
take care

As much as I adore summer I always welcome the beautiful crisp clear days of Autumn. Perfect lovely camping weather.

what beautiful figs! do you grow them yourself? do you know what variety they are? i've been thinking of putting in a fig tree so i can have fresh figs of my own! (the plate is lovely, too.)
