running for red

Under a perfectly cloudless winters morning many happy little faces anticipated a day today filled with fun and colour and action..

I don't think they were disappointed.
Adorned in crimson and fresh green and sunny gold the little ones found there was running and jumping and ball games to be played.
And there were picnics to be eaten.
There were proud Mum's and Dad's to clap and cheer and photograph...
(and one almost spent Mama to chase a wild younger sibling who has not yet mastered the art of being either spectator or cheer squad).

Though best of all at the end of the day there was a happy face and tired limbs, warmed by a fill of rich sunshine, to drag home to rest and reminisce on her colour red and that she did indeed run in a race today.

Quite an accomplishment!
I'm happy for her that she got to bring her red ribbon home to remind her of such a fine fete!
Sounds like it was wonderful for everyone.

hooray for red! sounds like a wonderful day:)
I like the ribbon very much - I think it's great that it focuses on the having fun aspect instead of placing in the race. fantastic.

This reminds me that our school sports day is coming up and guess what colour the kids' team is? Yep, red. I hope we get as much sunshine as you did, although I'm sure it will be fun anyway! xo

wonderful to be out and about stetching those limbs and having fun - my 9 yo just played her very first netball game today too, and had so much fun! They are the "Red and Blue Birds" - go those red girls!

There's nothing like rest after a busy day outdoors. And I can very much relate to the "almost spent Mama" feeling. I've had a lot of those days chasing after and running with my little one.
