::: cumquat marmalade :::

It's that time of year, when the cumquat trees are bursting with tiny amber globes.
I like to think they hold a little bit of the Summer within their chubby golden bodies.
But loving cumquat marmalade as I do my small tree now stands quite bare.
I have been eyeing these off patiently through the autumn and now a more than satisfying bundle has gratefully and excitedly been harvested...

and after some slicing, soaking, boiling and setting.....

there are several deliciously tempting jars of cumquat marmalade in our house....yes, each holding their share of summer gone...trapped in a pretty glass jar....to be consumed with delight on warm toast.

I used this easy recipe here.

Oooh...looks scrumptious! I've never tasted a cumquat. Is it kind of like an orange?

I've never actually liked cumquats, but turning them into marmalade actually sounds really delish.

I've never tried cumquats before and now you have inspired me to search them out and find out just how good they are.

Oops! Sorry about that. It took me years to appreciate marmalade. My dad is one of those people who can do just about anything he sets his mind to. He's a fantastic cook and he brought some jam up to visit last year. Oh. My. Goodness. We make our own bread and there is nothing like fresh bread and marmalade. I'm hooked! Today I'm making your pistachio and banana cake for a friend's birthday.

I am not a marmalade fan at all, but I would love to at least try kumquat marmalade. It does look very good.

When I lived in CA, we grew kumquats. But not where I am now. However, if I did ... I surely whip a bunch of this marmalade. Looks so delicious!

That looks awesome. Am hankering heavy sour dough breads, cheeses and cumquat jam. Am off the bread though. My fav thing is bread and cheese and chutneys and jams. Oh woe is me.
